Untenmaru Kurumada

A large, fluffy white moustache parts down the middle above his mouth, matched by a band of the same white hair tracing his chin. His face is squared off, his black hair kept short at the sides and swept up on top, and his narrow eyes sit in a near-permanent furrow that reads as stern.

He works in formal dress: a dark jacket over a black shirt, a white tie, and the white gloves standard to professional drivers.

Nothing about him is diplomatic. He holds his views firmly and delivers them at volume, and he is blunt enough that yelling back at Katsuki Bakugo over a degrading comment actually shut the boy up. Nor does he soften anything in Endeavor's presence, whether the subject is the hero's decisions or the company he keeps.

He first appears ferrying Endeavor and his interns from the Todoroki Abode to U.A. High School once dinner is over. Katsuki, staring out the window, made a sharp remark about the size of the car, and Untenmaru took offense and fired back by calling him a shameless freeloader, then turned his complaints on Endeavor and his taste in passengers.

Moments later the villain Ending turned up. Untenmaru swerved hard to avoid him while barking at Katsuki to get his head back inside, and once the students piled out after Endeavor he sent their equipment along behind them. With the fight finished and Endeavor giving his report to the police, he told the hero to take more care, given that two attacks had targeted him inside a few days.

After the Final War he drove his employer and the family to Central Hospital to see Toya, kept alive in a life support pod following the damage he had done to himself. When the visit ended he waited outside with the Flaming Sidekickers for Enji and Rei Todoroki.

His Volume 26 profile notes that flowers are his favorite thing and that, unlike other hired drivers, he takes only heroes as clients. His catchphrase, rendered as PAHHH in the manga and ZOUNDS in the anime, amused Kohei Horikoshi enough while drafting the character's debut that it caught on around him.
