Threads of Hope

Watching Dabi's confession on the way down, Best Jeanist understands the timing: the video was held back until faith in heroes was already cracking. He jumps, declaring the League will not have their way, and lashes every one of them down, giant included. Dabi cannot square it with the corpse Hawks handed him, and Shoto answers his taunt with a burning fist.

Spinner works out that the beast has no infinite reserve and that without orders he cannot cut loose, so he tries to rouse Tomura. Nejire goes for the villain and is swallowed by blueflame; Ida catches her before she lands. Half-awake, Tomura issues one word of command, and the surge nearly tears Jeanist's hold apart. Four Near High-Ends peel off to converge on him.

Shoto presses his brother about siccing Ending on Natsuo, and Dabi shrugs that Natsuo dying would have hurt their father just fine. Behind Jeanist, the Nomu close in, and Deku, immobile, works out that Float plus Blackwhip can move him even if his limbs will not. Before he tries, Lemillion phases in and drops the creatures, his Permeation returned. A flashback shows Eri, trained for months on insects and lizards, restoring it the day before the raid.

Out of punching power, Lemillion calls for help, and Bakugo arrives on his new condensed explosions, taking a Nomu with him. Asked whether he can look past himself now, Bakugo announces his name: Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight. Jeanist finds it childish, Ida too long, Nejire too violent, and Lemillion, quoting Nighteye, calls it good.

Deku fires Blackwhip out of his own mouth, naming the variant Froppy Style, and rips Dabi off Shoto, and tells him that the Endeavor of today is the one worth looking at. Danger Sense flares as the giant strains loose, and Endeavor spends the last of himself to fly up and knock him flat before blacking out. Gigantomachia's strength drains away: the sedative has taken. Best Jeanist credits the accumulated effort of everyone who wore him down, one thread at a time, and finishes the League with Blackout Bind.

Best Jeanist returns alive, restrains the entire League and Gigantomachia with Thread of Hope, and later chokes them out with Blackout Bind. Lemillion rejoins the war with Permeation restored by Eri's Rewind. Bakugo debuts Cluster and Explosive Speed: Cluster and takes the hero name Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight.

Deku creates Froppy Style, firing Blackwhip from his mouth. Endeavor knocks Gigantomachia down at the cost of his own consciousness, and the students' anesthetic finally takes effect, ending the giant's rampage. Dabi burns Nejire Chan and confirms to Shoto that he feels nothing anymore.

Chapters 292 and 293 plus the opening pages of 294 form the basis. Broadcast landed 17 December 2022 in Japan, with the dub on 7 January 2023.

Burnin's clash with the Near High-Ends runs longer, a beat showing Mirio observe Eri's practice sessions is added, the villa backup team is shown evacuating under Jeanist's monologue, and the Shoto and Dabi exchange gains extra dialogue. Trivia of note: the Lamprey Nomu's roar reuses Godzilla's from the 1998 film.
