Episode 65

Set on joining the Hero Work-Studies, Izuku phones Gran Torino, who pretends not to remember him before dubbing him a useless successor. The boy answers that he intends to be a useless successor worth All Might's name. Police work keeps the old man busy, so he suggests Izuku ask All Might for an introduction to his former sidekick, Sir Nighteye.

Twice, meanwhile, brings Overhaul to a dusty factory to meet the League. Tomura Shigaraki recognises the visitor as the Shie Hassaikai's young boss, one of the yakuza heads All For One once pointed out to him. Mr. Compress explains that organised crime ruled the underworld until the age of heroes arrived and All Might's rise left the families all but extinct and permanently watched. Magne asks what the guest actually wants, and Overhaul answers that with All For One gone he intends to rule as the emperor of darkness.

Tomura claims the role for himself, insulted that a yakuza would even ask. Overhaul counters that ambition without a plan is a fantasy, citing squandered assets like Stain, Muscular, and Moonfish. He has not come to enlist but to recruit: he needs funding, and the League's name would open the pockets of investors who prefer the dark. Told to leave, he holds his ground. Magne, refusing to kneel to anyone, swings her magnet pole, and Overhaul peels off a glove and grazes her arm. Her upper body swells and bursts, killing her instantly.

Mr. Compress reaches for his own Quirk and finds it dead after a strange bullet strikes him, and Overhaul wrecks his arm. Tomura charges; a second bullet misses, and one of Overhaul's men throws himself in the way as a shield. The rest of the Hassaikai smash through the warehouse wall, though Twice swears nobody tailed him. Overhaul proposes that a man lost on each side makes them even, leaves his card, and asks Tomura to call once tempers cool. Toga and Twice want the masked shooter dead, but Tomura holds them back, weighing All For One's old counsel and the stranger's argument, already deciding how much repayment he will demand later.

At U.A., Aizawa outlines the Work-Studies and admits most of the staff would rather the class sit them out, though reputable agencies will be permitted. All Might declines to introduce Izuku, both because he doubts the boy needs the placement and because he cannot face his old partner. Instead he summons Mirio over the loudspeaker, startling the rest of The Big 3, and asks him to make the introduction in his place. Mirio asks what kind of hero Izuku wants to be, hears that he wants to win and save everyone, and agrees, certain Sir would approve. All Might privately remembers Nezu naming Mirio as his successor.

That weekend, while Katsuki and Shoto leave for their Provisional Hero License training, Mirio escorts Izuku to the Nighteye Agency, a full hour from school, warning him that Sir prizes humour and expects a laugh by day's end without much help. Bubble Girl is mid-report on the League's recent clash when Sir cuts her off to insist a society without comedy has no room to breathe, and Izuku arrives to find her strapped into a tickle machine as punishment. His one and only plan, contorting his face into an approximation of All Might's, lands flat, and Sir Nighteye asks whether he is mocking the man.

Overhaul opens negotiations with the League of Villains, kills Magne with a touch, and cripples Mr. Compress with a Quirk-cancelling bullet before calling a truce.

Tomura begins taking Overhaul's criticism seriously, resolving to extract payment for the losses when the two sides meet again.

Mirio Togata delivers Izuku to the Nighteye Agency, where the young hero's attempt to win Sir Nighteye over through humour fails immediately.

The episode adapts Chapter 125 and Chapter 126, and is the second of the fourth season.

The anime gives Overhaul's Quirk added visual detail, with bumps rising beneath the skin before the target ruptures, and shows him breaking out in hives from his mysophobia when Mr. Compress attacks.

Additional material extends the aftermath of the clash, including the Hassaikai's withdrawal, Toga urging that Compress be taken to a doctor, and All For One appearing briefly in his cell.
