Bright Future

Deku slams the unconscious villain into the pavement, and inside the compound Hari Kurono senses the delay and assumes the worst. Rather than lose the finished drug, he moves to kill Aizawa, only for Tamaki Amajiki and the police to reach him first, a swordfish arm through the limb ending it since his own power leaves him immobile whenever he uses it. Above, Eri's Rewind runs wild and grinds at Deku's body. Chisaki, seemingly out cold, is roused by the memory of a rainy walk home with the boss who told him never to raise a hand to civilians and thanked him anyway for defending the yakuza's honor, and his body lunges on its own. Eri's power strips the monstrous form away, Uravity cuffs him, and Aizawa arrives in time to switch Eri off before she kills Izuku. Toga and Twice escape; eleven Hassaikai members do not. The mission closes at 9:15 AM, and Nighteye tells Izuku he twisted the future before the ambulances take them.

The convoy never makes it. Shigaraki talks shogi while Mr. Compress thanks Toga by phone for the intel that put them here, and Dabi opens with a spiral of blue fire that Sajin Higawara turns aside with his sand. Shigaraki occupies the Sand Hero long enough for Compress to release a boulder under the vehicle and flip it, then wrecks the transport himself. Higawara saves the driver and confronts Dabi, recognizing him from a trail of scorched corpses and asking whether he ever considers the people left behind. Compress catches him mid-transformation and compresses him along with Dabi's flames, killing him. Shigaraki then finds Chisaki restrained, tells him he is far too smug, takes the perfected bullets, and decays the man's arm before cutting it loose. Compress makes off with a limb of his own. Chisaki, realizing he can never heal the boss now, breaks out in hives and screams as the League walks off with his life's work.

Around the compound, the neighborhood is largely intact and civilian casualties are minimal, credit the heroes give to Izuku. At the hospital, Red Riot, Suneater, Fat Gum, and Rock Lock are all bruised but safe. Eri sleeps feverish in quarantine because her power is still dangerous. Recovery Girl and the doctors deliver the verdict on Nighteye: he will not see tomorrow.

All Might comes to the bedside and apologizes to the sidekick he lost years ago. Nighteye holds no grudge, wants him happy, and tells him the young heroes changed a future he had believed unchangeable. Mirio staggers in, crying, begging his mentor to live and insisting every ounce of his strength came from this man's teaching. Nighteye had originally sought him out only as a vessel for One For All, and ended up prouder of him than of anything else. He spends his Foresight one final time on Mirio's future and sees a hero finer than any other. He asks them all to smile, since a society with no laughter and no hope has no bright future waiting, and then he is gone.

Chronostasis is arrested by Suneater and the police. Eri reverts Chisaki to normal, Uravity restrains him, and Eraser Head shuts down her runaway Quirk in time to save Izuku.

The Shie Hassaikai Raid ends at 9:15 AM with eleven arrests, though Toga and Twice slip away.

The League of Villains ambushes the prison convoy. Sajin Higawara is killed by Mr. Compress and Dabi.

Shigaraki seizes the Quirk-Destroying bullets and decays Kai Chisaki's arm, leaving him powerless while Compress takes the other.

Sir Nighteye dies after using Foresight one last time to see Mirio's future, ending the Shie Hassaikai arc.

Chapters 159 through 161 are adapted here, and the episode functions as the arc's epilogue.

The aftermath of Chisaki's defeat is given considerably more room than on the page, taking in the arrests of the Hassaikai, the evacuation of the wounded, and a new moment of Ryukyu thanking Izuku. The League's assault on the escort is reworked in several respects as well.
