Chapter 150

A shortcut brings Lemillion face to face with Chronostasis and Overhaul, and the yakuza boss cannot hide his irritation at how quickly the student caught up. Mirio states plainly that he has come for Eri and intends to fix the mistake he made when he first met her. Overhaul insists the girl wants nothing to do with him, dismisses the heroics as pointless, and turns to leave with an order for Mirio to die. The charge collapses almost immediately: Mirio's footing goes soft and he drops, the work of Deidoro Sakaki, whose Quirk wrecks a target's balance.

Shin Nemoto opens fire and the rounds pass harmlessly through Mirio's body. A question about the Quirk pulls the word Permeation out of him before he can stop himself, which he never intended to give away. Deidoro sneers at the miss, Shin swats the beer bottle out of his hand and tells him to be useful, and Mirio works out what he is dealing with. Shin brags that he alone shares Overhaul's ambitions, and when Mirio throws the abuse of the man's supposed daughter back at him, Shin answers that progress has no room for compassion and that Mirio, who once walked away from Eri, knows it. Mirio agrees out loud, and the agreement horrifies him.

Confession forces honest answers out of anyone Shin questions. He came to the Shie Hassaikai as a repeat-offending con man who had learned that everyone buries their true nature, and he specializes in surfacing weaknesses his marks never knew they carried. He asks whether saving Eri is really about Eri or about Mirio's own conscience, and Mirio stops moving. With Overhaul walking away, Shin decides to finish the job; his bullets and Deidoro's knives fly at once, and Mirio answers with Phantom Menace, phasing forward and dropping both men.

Mirio does not argue the accusation. He handed Eri back to her despair and has carried that sin since. His strength came from admitting what he lacked rather than hiding it, and his heart works no differently. Deidoro cannot understand how he moves at all under the effects of Sloshed; the answer is a lifetime of enduring far worse sensations every single day. What Mirio cannot endure is Eri's face without a smile on it. He knocks the pair down again and closes on Overhaul, striking as he arrives. A backhand grazes the yakuza's cheek and leaves a mark, and a kick puts Chronostasis on the ground, Permeation letting the blow miss Eri entirely. Mirio pulls the girl close. She begs him to run before Overhaul kills him. He tells her nothing will make her sad again, because he is her hero.

Mirio Togata catches up to Overhaul and Chronostasis inside the Shie Hassaikai compound and declares his intent to take Eri back.

Deidoro Sakaki and Shin Nemoto of the Eight Bullets intercept him, with Deidoro's Quirk destroying his balance.

Shin's Quirk is named as Confession, which compels people to answer truthfully, and his past as a con man is shown.

Mirio uses Phantom Menace to defeat Shin and Deidoro together.

Mirio breaks through Overhaul and Chronostasis to take Eri into his arms and promises to be her hero.

Mirio Togata is chapter 150 of My Hero Academia, written and drawn by Kohei Horikoshi. It ran on August 28, 2017 in issue 39 of that year, spans 17 pages, and appears in Volume 17 within the Shie Hassaikai arc.

Lemillion, Overhaul and Chronostasis share the cover. Permeation, Confession and Sloshed are the Quirks on display, with Phantom Menace as the featured super move, and the whole chapter takes place in the Shie Hassaikai Compound during the raid. Episode 74 adapts the material. The author comment concerns weakening legs and a wish to exercise more.
