Chapter 160

Aboard the truck, a phone call has Mr. Compress praising Himiko Toga for her groundwork, but she redirects the credit to Twice, who had to remind her to make the call while she was distracted gushing about Izuku Midoriya. Taking Twice with her, she confirms the odds are strong that their target is traveling the expressway, and apologizes that Eri slipped away from her, adding that it hardly matters since the finished product rides with the convoy.

Up ahead, whoever is driving the heavy escort vehicle spots the villains blocking the road. Dabi snaps at Spinner to hold the truck steady, and Spinner fires back that his driving comes from video games and that hitting a police convoy does nothing for the society they claim to want. Tomura Shigaraki brushes the objection aside as a price worth paying.

Dabi's flames wash over the lead police car and die out, smothered under sand thrown up by the Sand Hero, Snatch. Tomura has Spinner slow down so he can leap across, and his attempt to lay Decay on Snatch ends with the hero holding him instead. The two recognize each other as inversions: Decay requires all five fingers on a solid target, and no hand closes on a cloud of sand. With Snatch's attention locked on Tomura, Compress rolls a marble under the lead vehicle and lets it go, and the boulder that erupts hurls the vehicle skyward, breaking the grip. Tomura lands on the escort vehicle, crumbles the windshield, and wrenches the wheel hard enough to roll it.

Snatch cushions his own landing and finds Dabi waiting. He connects the villain to a run of scorched bodies, a reputation Dabi welcomes, and condemns him for it before attacking. Sand meets blue fire and stalls, and while Snatch is occupied, Compress slips behind him and seals hero and fire together inside a marble. Dabi observes that only Snatch's upper body converts to sand and expects him to die.

With the escort vehicle overturned and Spinner's truck parked alongside, Tomura boots the bound Kai Chisaki out onto the asphalt. Kai asks whether he is to be killed, and Tomura says he has something far worse in store. He voices his loathing for Kai's arrogance while Compress crushes part of the man's left arm into a marble in agreement. Opening the container, Tomura finds two boxes and decides that identifying the finished product can wait.

Kai demands the container back. Tomura takes hold of his right forearm and starts breaking it down, relishing the contradiction of a man who would erase Quirks relying on a Quirk to do it. As the decay spreads, Tomura notes the whole body will follow unless the limb comes off, then draws a knife and severs it himself. He flings the hands away, laughing at the man reduced to the very Quirkless helplessness he wanted to impose on the world, gloating over the stolen life's work and telling Kai that envy is all he has left. Unable to ever wake his boss now, Kai can only scream, and Spinner warns that reinforcements are closing in. Tomura, Dabi, and Compress walk away from the wreck, with Tomura declaring that the underworld's next rulers are standing right there.

Himiko and Twice break off to rejoin the group while Tomura, Dabi, Spinner, and Mr. Compress strike the convoy directly.

The Pro Hero Snatch is killed in the assault, and the heavy escort vehicle is forced off the road. Snatch makes his first appearance in this chapter.

As revenge, Tomura and Compress destroy both of Kai Chisaki's arms, leaving him unable to use Overhaul, and seize the remaining stock of the Quirk-Destroying and Quirk-Repairing drug.

Numbered 160 in the main run, this installment spans 17 pages inside the Shie Hassaikai arc and collects into volume 18. Japanese readers first saw it on November 20, 2017, in issue 51 of that year.

Three villains take the cover art: Mr. Compress, Himiko Toga, and Twice. Episode 77 handles the adaptation. Decay, Compress, Blueflame, and Sandstorm all see use, and the confrontation with Snatch is logged as both beginning and ending inside these pages.
