Chapter 184

November is drawing to a close when Shota reveals in the lounge that U.A. will be looking after Eri, to Izuku's surprise. Ochaco and Tsuyu welcome her while Shota lays out the reasoning: she cannot stay in a hospital forever, her parents abandoned her, and her closest relative, the Shie Hassaikai's boss and her grandfather, lies unconscious and cannot care for her. Mirio adds that her horn, the source of her Quirk, is slowly growing back, which is the other reason for the transfer. Shota can keep the power from going out of control, and will monitor and help her manage it in an empty room off the teachers' lounge. Mirio will help too, and invites Class 1-A to visit once in a while given how busy everyone is. Tamaki voices the hope that a controlled Quirk might eventually give Mirio back the use of his own power, an idea Mirio finds neat. Shota then keeps the three third-years back for a talk and sends Izuku, Eijiro, Ochaco, and Tsuyu to the dormitories, where visitors are waiting.

At the dorm, Fumikage sneezes and Denki decides someone must have mentioned him, guessing at a fan. Ochaco figures Fumikage would have plenty, having interned under the Number 3 Hero, though Fumikage thinks it far too early for that. The visitors turn out to be the Wild, Wild Pussycats, bearing cat paw buns. Seeing Kota again thrills Izuku, who shakes the boy's hand and tells him that the thank-you letter he sent has been treasured ever since. Mandalay shows off Kota's new red shoes, chosen to match Izuku's, to their owner's embarrassment. Over Rikido's tea, Pixie-Bob explains that the visit celebrates Ragdoll's reinstatement, though Ragdoll clarifies that she plans to support the team as a secretary. Word arrived from Tartarus about her stolen Quirk: once All For One has held a Quirk for a long stretch, he cannot return it to its owner or pass it to anyone else, and the prison is now investigating how many he holds and for how long. Ragdoll rejects Eijiro's guess that the team returned to chase a higher rank, pointing instead to approval ratings showing that many fans want them back in action.

Momo asks why now, and Mandalay explains that the JP Hero Billboard Chart broadcast is imminent and the Pussycats sit at 411th. The chart aggregates incidents resolved, contribution to society, and approval ratings twice a year across every active hero, and a place on it marks someone recognized as able to bring peace and joy to the public. Mina, hearing this, wonders about the delayed second-semester school rankings. The broadcast is staged at Kamino for its importance, the first chart without All Might on it, with the top ten appearing on stage in person. Ryukyu places tenth after slipping a rank, followed by the Equipped Hero Yoroi Musha, the Laundry Hero Wash, and Kamui Woods. Mt. Lady, sitting at 23rd, declines to comment on her relations with her partner and stews over missing the top ten alongside him. Crust is sixth, Mirko fifth, Edgeshot fourth, and Best Jeanist third in absentia while on leave. Hawks climbs from third to second, and the new Number One, wearing a new costume, is Endeavor, the hero who already held the rank temporarily.

Eri is revealed to be moving into U.A. under Shota and the teaching staff. The Wild, Wild Pussycats and Kota visit Class 1-A. Fumikage's internship with Hawks during the opening round of Hero Work-Studies comes to light. The chart is then televised, placing Ryukyu tenth, Yoroi Musha ninth, Wash eighth, Kamui Woods seventh, Crust sixth, Mirko fifth, Edgeshot fourth, Best Jeanist third, Hawks second, and Endeavor officially No. 1.

Called Japanese Hero Billboard Chart, or Hīrō Birubōdo Chāto Jeipī, this seventeen-page chapter opens the Pro Hero arc and was published on May 28, 2018 in issue 26 as part of Volume 20. Yoroi Musha, Wash, Crust, Mirko, and Hawks all debut. Eri, Izuku, Mirio, Tamaki, Nejire, and Shota appear on the cover, and Episode 87 adapts it. Horikoshi's comment reports waking up refreshed after drinking a noncaffeinated energy drink before bed.
