The festival plays out to its end in Chapter 183: a stage play, a beauty pageant, a candied apple, and a scolding Izuku has earned. In a police interrogation room, meanwhile, Gentle Criminal tries to talk La Brava out of the sentence she badly wants to share.
Class 1-B's stage play carries on to an appreciative audience while Class 1-A, who would have liked to watch it, are stuck clearing the wreckage of their own show. Toshinori Yagi returns Izuku's phone, and the boy apologizes for that and for the scuffle with Gentle, though Ryo Inui and Ectoplasm have already filled him in. Ryo credits Izuku with escaping injury and with keeping the festival from being canceled, then chews him out for acting out of line: he contacted none of the heroes nearby, and he is not the only one out there protecting the peace. Izuku accepts the point, which satisfies Ryo enough to fling him off toward the festivities with orders to enjoy himself, after which the hero gets overexcited and starts play-attacking Toshinori.
Izuku finds Eri and Mirio, and Eri chatters excitedly about the performance, which makes him happy. Some of the students who had been critical of Class 1-A come by to apologize during cleanup, and others praise the show for putting fun into the whole festival. The class speeds through the remaining work and finishes. The beauty pageant comes down to a contest among Itsuka Kendo, Bibimi Kenranzaki, and Nejire Hado, with Nejire taking the crown on votes and Bibimi conceding humbly. When Eri's time is up, Izuku hands her a candied apple, her favorite treat, before Shota Aizawa and Mirio escort her home and he waves them off.
At the police station, investigators marvel at Manami Aiba's talent for hacking and ask whether she ever turned those skills toward the good of the world, to which she answers that everything she does is for Gentle. In another room a gorilla-featured investigator questions Tobita, who maintains that Manami is brainwashed and should be tested for it. The investigator wants to attach her to Tobita's crimes; Tobita adamantly refuses to allow it, which convinces the man he is looking at mutual love rather than mind control. Going over Tobita's past, the villain says he remembered his dream and started running toward it, even on the wrong path. The investigator counts it lucky they stopped him before he hit rock bottom, since he still has the motivation to rebuild, unlike the lazy or those who rush their results. He then leaves for tea, denying Tobita's request for black and fetching instant instead.
The rest of the festival plays out at U.A. Nejire Hado takes the pageant title. Eri receives a candied apple from Izuku before her departure. Under questioning, Gentle works to keep La Brava clear of his crimes, and the officer, recognizing what lies behind that, tells him a rebuilt life is still within reach.
