Summary

Rather than celebrate, Shota asks the winning Class 1-A team what the fight taught them. Eijiro admits Hardening is awkward when the job calls for avoiding a brawl. Koji wants his insect commands to be clearer. Tsuyu regrets that two teammates went to jail despite everything. Denki, alone among them, congratulates himself loudly enough that the others feel obliged to comment.

Hitoshi's frustration is that almost none of his hero study translated into the fight. Shota's answer is blunt: a student who could already do everything would not need a teacher, and mastering the capture weapon took him six years. Midnight is delighted by the honesty. The advice continues around the team, telling Eijiro to force opponents into direct confrontation, Koji to hunt for enemy weaknesses, and Tsuyu to concentrate on recovering from an error instead of the error itself. Denki gets scolded for coasting early and asked whether he only performs when his team is losing, which deflates him into the same awareness the others reached. Sekijiro's approach with 1-B is louder, laying into them for never naming a leader. Jurota apologizes to Ibara for giving 1-A the time to plan, while Neito pulls Hitoshi aside to talk about their upcoming match.

Everyone else splits into teams to plot, and their enthusiasm nearly overwhelms Midnight. All Might reflects that the whole exercise exists to let the students measure themselves against their peers. The four teachers then discuss Hitoshi's bid for the Hero course; All Might praises his showing, and Shota confirms the exercise weighs heavily on that application.

Match two puts Yuga, Toru, Fumikage, and Momo against Itsuka, Shihai, Manga, and Kinoko. Walking to the arena, Itsuka asks Momo why she skipped the fashion show at the school festival, and Momo explains that Shota never brought it up with her because she was rehearsing for the class concert. Itsuka admits that ever since Uwabami's commercial, people have talked about the two of them as a set, so she is glad to finally face her directly. Fumikage and Shihai trade notes on how similar their Quirks are and how well each understands darkness. Elsewhere, Hanta asks Tetsutetsu where Itsuka ranks in 1-B, and gets an enthusiastic answer: she is the big sis of the class.

Itsuka wants to read 1-A's movements before committing to a plan, but Dark Shadow surfaces in front of her team first. Shihai seizes the opening he was hoping for, hijacking Dark Shadow with his own Quirk and turning it against Fumikage. Momo throws nets at him, and he slips into a shadow beneath a pipe before they land. Fumikage picks himself up and readies something new: Black Fallen Angel.
