Clever Commander!

Kinoko's Quirk swallows the field, mushrooms sprouting over the terrain and over Momo and Toru alike, with spray bottles raising the humidity to feed them. The cover costs Yuga his line of sight on Shihai, who slips into a black mushroom using his own Quirk. Minoru compares the whole scene to a horror film, and Yosetsu points out the growth will fade within hours.

The plan behind it belongs to Itsuka, who built the 1-B strategy around setting Shihai's Quirk against Fumikage's Dark Shadow. When Shihai worried aloud that he might fail to take Fumikage, she predicted exactly how her side would learn of it: Yuga's Navel Laser would light up the field in the counterattack. With Kinoko's stage of the plan running, Momo shouts at her team to stay calm and regroup, only for a wall of katakana to erupt and sever her from them. Yuga's laser cannot mark the characters that Manga's Comic Quirk produced.

Manga speaks the word for humidity, and a humidifier appears, driving Kinoko's mushrooms harder still. Watching from outside, Hanta and Rikido weigh the pair of long-range fighters and idly wonder how Manga's Quirk would hold up outside Japanese-speaking countries.

Isolated, Momo becomes a solo target for Itsuka's Big Fist. She creates a tungsten shield in time, and Itsuka crumples it without much effort and drives her backward. Another shield breaks the same way. Tetsutetsu cheers Itsuka's knack for engineering the situation she wants, but Shoto reads it differently: if caution about Momo is what drove Itsuka to isolate her, then Itsuka has misjudged her. Momo, remembering Itsuka praising her grades and abilities and regretting that people rank the two of them as a pair, finds the resolve to fight back.

Manga Fukidashi's Comic Quirk is revealed, producing physical katakana that act as walls and objects.

Kinoko Komori floods Ground Gamma with mushrooms, aided by Manga conjuring humidity to accelerate their growth.

Itsuka Kendo's advance planning is shown, including her prediction that Yuga's Navel Laser would signal Shihai's failure.

Cut off from her teammates by Manga's wall, Momo faces an ambush in which Itsuka's Big Fist crushes every shield she creates.

The two hundredth chapter of the series, running eleven pages on October 1, 2018 in issue 44 of that year and collected in volume 21. It belongs to the Joint Training arc and was adapted as Episode 94.

The cover gathers six of Class 1-A's front-line students: Izuku Midoriya, Momo Yaoyorozu, Ochaco Uraraka, Katsuki Bakugo, Tenya Ida, and Shoto Todoroki. All action stays inside Ground Gamma at U.A. High School.

Horikoshi's author comment apologizes for the page count and promises to work on picking up the pace.
