Memento from All For One

The League of Villains is still losing ground to Gigantomachia when a radio interrupts the fight. Spinner wonders aloud whether the speaker is the physician they have been hunting, and Tomura Shigaraki confirms that the man on the line served All For One. Asked how things are going, Tomura answers that his group is minutes away from being pulped. Gigantomachia, furious and grieving at once, tears open the ground beneath them and howls that acceptance is beyond him no matter how badly he wants to give it.

The doctor fills in the giant's past. Gigantomachia stood at All For One's side as bodyguard and trusted friend, carrying out every assignment on raw endurance alone, never once needing a Quirk augmented into him. Once All Might left All For One broken, the giant was tucked away as insurance that the dream would outlive its dreamer. Dabi calls the inheritance a poor one. The doctor concedes the point, describing a loyalty so absolute it wounds him that Tomura falls short of his old master. Dabi answers with a sheet of Blueflame, and the fire simply washes off. As the giant winds up again, the doctor speaks the name Machia and pipes All For One's recorded voice through the speaker. Gigantomachia goes quiet, nuzzling the radio like a contented animal.

Tomura wants nothing to do with the creature. The doctor insists there is future value in him, and adds that Kurogiri has coddled Tomura far too long. Black sludge boils out of the villains' mouths, the same effect seen during the Kamino Incident, and the group is dragged to a hidden facility.

Rows of tanks line the lab, each holding a Nomu. Dabi picks out one female specimen and notes how unlike the earlier models these look. Their maker agrees with delight: these are not the low and mid-grade stock but High-End units, the summit of his craft. Tomura starts to ask whether the Quirk-Destroying Bullets can be reproduced. When Mr. Compress complains that the man remains invisible to them, the doctor shrinks back into a black tunnel and threatens to dump them all in front of Gigantomachia if anyone steps closer, promising that any face-to-face meeting happens on his terms. Twice points out that he called them here in the first place, and Dabi asks what the point of the trip is.

The reply is a confession. He, too, was intimate with All For One, and he answers to the alias Daruma Ujiko. Respect for his old master is the only reason Tomura stands in this room, since everything the doctor built, including his beloved little ones, was laid at All For One's feet. Tomura, in his view, has been handed leftovers because nothing he has done yet earns more. The doctor closes with a demand: show me something.

The doctor's alias is confirmed as Daruma Ujiko, a name Dabi had already let slip while fleeing during the Pro Hero Arc.

A portion of Daruma's hidden facility is glimpsed, holding no fewer than twelve High-End Nomu, a grade well beyond the standard product.

The chapter runs fifteen pages in Volume 23 and originally ran in issue 17 of 2019, dated March 25. Episode 108 of the anime adapts it. Gigantomachia and Tomura Shigaraki share the cover, while Woman, Robot, and Chubs debut inside.

The confrontation between the League and Gigantomachia concludes here. Quirks on display include Pain Blocker, Gigantification, Warping, Fierce Gains, and Blueflame, with the action split between the League hideout and the doctor's secret laboratory.
