Wounded Soul

Slipping clear of Geten's opening strike, Dabi privately notes how hard and how forward his opponent fights, then says as much aloud, adding that he has grown stronger himself and can recognize the same in others. Geten points out that Dabi's Blueflames make him the League's only wide-area threat and asks why he has kept them holstered, wondering whether he has some hang-up about his own Meta Ability.

Irritated, Dabi lets the blue fire go, pointing out what heat does to frozen water. The construct comes apart, and Geten, falling, remarks calmly that this might be a problem. On the way down he pulls ice out of a nearby convenience store, and soon he is riding a dragon of it, informing Dabi that every kind of ice answers to him. School was never necessary for him, he explains; every hour went into his Meta Ability instead. Mr. Compress frets about the surroundings as the two build a wall of flame and frost across the city.

Meanwhile Twice comes across Himiko, unconscious and horribly hurt. The sight sets his personalities against each other. The kinder half insists she will make it through; the darker one flatly dismisses her odds. The kinder one wins, and he breaks down sobbing because she will not wake, pouring out how much she and the League mean to him for giving him a place, and clutching the handkerchief she once gave him to stand in for his torn mask back when the Shie Hassaikai were raided.

Up in the Central Tower, the entire scene has had an audience. Tomoyasu Chikazoku has been watching and has already dispatched a squad, intent on taking Twice alive and killing Himiko to settle the debt for Curious. When Twice turns and sees what has arrived, his face collapses into horror. Skeptic knows exactly what Twice's own Quirk once did to him, and his Anthropomorph has produced a company of Human Puppets wearing Jin's face, dragging the memory of his clones butchering each other straight back into the light.

Twice screams. The puppets pile onto him and tear his mask away.

Dabi's clash with the hooded stranger scatters the League members apart from one another.

Geten's Meta Ability turns out to be ice manipulation, and skipping school to drill it for years is what made the power so formidable.

Himiko Toga is found unconscious by Twice.

Anthropomorph, the Quirk belonging to Tomoyasu Chikazoku, is revealed.

The Meta Liberation Army wants Twice recruited, intending to use Double to keep their Supreme Commander operational should anything happen to him.
