Summary

Izuku Midoriya gets no say in the matter. The male half of Class 1-A marches him off to the bath, scrubs him raw, and drops him into the water before climbing in themselves. Katsuki Bakugo bellows orders throughout, and Fumikage Tokoyami observes that the apology Katsuki offered earlier changed nothing about him. Katsuki confirms it, since the number one spot is still his goal and that keeps everyone around him a rival, Izuku included. He stumbles over the old nickname, and Izuku tells him not to force it, because Deku still works.

Back at the dorms, Izuku learns that Ochaco Uraraka fell asleep after her speech, along with several others. He apologizes again for the burden he believes he became, gets forgiven, and answers questions about One For All. Shoto Todoroki tries to clear the room so Izuku can sleep, but Izuku will not settle until he squares things with Toshinori Yagi, the man he shut out. All Might walks in on cue and apologizes first, faulting himself for not doing enough, and the students demand one for his abrupt disappearance too. He warns that the decisive clash is close, credits words from Chizome Akaguro for fresh intelligence, and insists that being Quirkless will not stop him from backing them. Izuku pushes back, saying the meals All Might cooked carried him through and that his real hardship was the absence itself. From here on, the things they love are worth defending as a group.

All Might departs to join Enji Todoroki and the other heroes, who are staying off campus and away from civilians since Dabi's revelation. Izuku is already asleep, so Shoto tucks a blanket around him and admits he may become a worry for the others as Dabi's brother. Eijiro Kirishima calls him blameless, but Shoto argues that loathing his own blood blinded him to where he came from, and he intends to prove he has moved past it. Chewing on the point about the evacuees, Kyoka Jiro pulls Denki Kaminari, Fumikage, Katsuki, and Momo Yaoyorozu close. Frightened onlookers once softened during the U.A. School Festival, and the class can manage that again. Class 1-A reunites around a bigger promise: not to restore the world as it was, but to leave it better.

Beyond the wreckage of Tartarus, Hawks briefs Best Jeanist. Kyudai Garaki's interrogation, the Nomu research at Central Hospital, and testimony from the assassins Izuku defeated all point one way. Tomura Shigaraki cannot finish becoming what he is meant to be for another two months, and All For One means to seize One For All before then. A month has already burned since the Assault on Tartarus, leaving one more to strike. Stain's paper, Hawks adds, reads like a love letter aimed at All Might alone, while the dagger concealed a data disk of Tartarus security records. As Endeavor takes off, they marvel that the Hero Killer ended up an asset.

Key Events

Izuku washes off the road and sleeps under a roof again, and his reunion with All Might ends with each of them claiming a blame the other refuses to accept.

Katsuki puts his ambition back on the table, which keeps Izuku a rival while quietly retiring some of the venom that used to come with it.

The class turns to the evacuees sharing the campus, betting that whatever charmed a wary crowd at the school festival works on frightened strangers too.

Hawks assembles a timetable: two months until the body is whole, one of them already gone, so the heroes have roughly thirty days to move first. Stain's dagger held a data disk of Tartarus security records, and the letter alongside it was meant for All Might and nobody else.
