Chapter 362: Light Fades to Rain

Encouragement he once could not accept runs through Suneater's head as he channels energy borrowed from Nejire Chan into his fused arm. The Vast Hybrid: Plasma Cannon lands squarely on "Tomura Shigaraki", who answers with a surge of fingers, and Lemillion follows up with a fist to the villain's face. None of it takes. Mocking the Heroes, "Tomura" says a blast of that size would not have finished All Might at his peak.

Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight refuses Best Jeanist's warnings and gets to his feet, telling Izuku the win is his to take. He rockets in, weaving through every strike aimed at him, and works out why he is suddenly so quick. Hoarding sweat into launchable beads for the Cluster technique strained his palm glands until the excess bled out across his whole body, an accident that gave him speed he never asked for. Every inch of him screams, and in that agony he recognizes the road Izuku has been walking, wondering whether he can still close the distance.

"Tomura" cannot explain why an "extra" without One For All has him rattled, and a hazy image of One For All's second holder flickers before him as he orders the boy to die. Katsuki drifts through a white emptiness, meeting a phantom All Might, admitting he never found the right moment to ask for a signature on his trading card. Then the villain's fist punches through his chest and his heart ruptures.

The Vast Hybrid: Plasma Cannon, Suneater's Ultimate Move, fails to stop "Tomura", and the manifestation he built is lost to the counterattack. Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight exploits the unintended speed boost from Cluster to slip past attack after attack, though his body pays for every movement.

Rattled by a foe he considers beneath him, "Tomura" glimpses a memory of One For All's second user. He then drives a fist into the young Hero's chest, stopping his heart and leaving him motionless with a hole punched through him. Best Jeanist and the others cannot bring him back.

Meteorologists register a steep temperature drop above the Kanto, Chubu and Kansai regions, and people below assume rain is coming. "Tomura" gloats that the whole clash has been a rerun of their last one, that a perfect Demon Lord vessel was prepared for the Final Boss, and that this is a story belonging to the Villains.

Mitsuki Bakugo remembers that her son never cared for rainy weather. Best Jeanist screams for a heart that has gone silent while Katsuki lies still on the ground. The chapter is illustrated by Kohei Horikoshi, runs 17 pages in Volume 36, and covers events adapted in Episode 149.
