Light Fades to Rain

With Dynamight beaten and the heroes reeling, Eraser Head asks Mandalay whether Deku is still far off; the electromagnetic interference has cut contact entirely, so Shota simply calls for anyone to save the boy. "Tomura" takes his time, kicking Dynamight up and catching him by the throat, remarking that having his Quirks erased is a mercy, since the corpse can be gift-wrapped for Deku rather than reduced to dust. He recalls how much rage the stabbing at the Paranormal Liberation War drew out of Izuku.

The Big 3 intervene. Nejire Chan's Pike is redirected when the villain uses Dynamight as a shield, then two scorpion tails burst from a half-invisible Suneater's neck, Scorpius Toxin fused with Octopus Mirage, pumping venom that "Tomura" simply vomits out through a mouth grown on his arm. Lemillion phases through the resulting wall of fingers and mouths, hands Dynamight off to Best Jeanist, and stays in the fight despite being assigned as a messenger and guard, admitting he cannot stand on the sidelines. When the villain calls the whole system a failure worth destroying, Lemillion suggests the man has simply never had friends, which triggers a childish tantrum: Tenko's voice insists Mon loves their walks and that Mikkun and Tomo always want to play. "Tomura" realizes the boy inside him is not fully digested.

On the ground, Best Jeanist finds Dynamight in tears and tells him not to blame himself, only to hear him muttering attack angles with sparks of sweat still popping off his skin. "Tomura" walks toward the downed student, brushing off Nejire Chan and Best Jeanist, while Lemillion panics; the plan was for him to stall while Suneater charged. Nejire keeps carving through the growth and remembers middle school, where classmates read her curiosity about their Quirks as condescension and drove her to shut herself away. Tamaki, borrowing the courage Mirio once showed him, asked her which heroes she liked, and the question gave her back to herself, leading to the Big 3 and everything after. She feeds a stray beam to her friend, who funnels it into an arm cannon built from an enormous list of eaten food and fires a Plasma Cannon that mows the villain across the field and into the sky.

The growth is gone but the man is not, and he stops short when Dynamight walks calmly toward him, head streaming blood. The boy tells Best Jeanist to look after the others and to pass a message to Izuku, whom he calls by his given name: winning is not optional. He vanishes, reappears at the villain's face, and detonates stored Cluster explosions, dodging and escalating as sweat forces itself out of his entire body rather than his palms. Through the pain he understands what Deku has always felt using One For All, and in a white void he apologizes to All Might's vestige for how he behaved at their first meeting and confesses he always wanted his card signed. Then "Tomura" lands a single blow with his transformed right arm. As rain begins, Best Jeanist reaches a pale boy with a vacant stare and a bloody crater where his heart should be.

The Big 3 execute a coordinated rescue: Nejire Chan stalls and feeds power, Lemillion extracts Dynamight, and Suneater lands the Plasma Cannon.

Lemillion's remark about friendship pulls Tenko's personality to the surface, proving the fusion is incomplete.

Dynamight pushes Cluster past its limits, speaks to All Might's vestige, and is then impaled through the heart by "Tomura".

Adapted from the end of Chapter 359 through Chapter 362. The anime drops Dynamight's vision of being crushed by the finger mass and inserts, ahead of the friendship argument, a flashback in which Tenko explains his heroic ambition to his mother.

Other expansions: the Big 3's battle plan, extra Edgeshot and Mirko footage, and a fuller version of Nejire's backstory, including her middle-school curiosity and her withdrawal at U.A. Her hair on her first U.A. day matches her debut length here rather than the manga's shorter cut. Katsuki's fight gains flashbacks of Izuku, the anime shows part of All For One's duel with the Second User, and the vestige scene opens with Katsuki apologizing for his behavior toward All Might.
