Chapter 368: Rev Up, One For All

Asked whether Tomura remains, the villain replies that he does not exist any longer. The two have fused into something new, and seniority puts All For One at the controls, who tells Deku that whatever he is plotting, the ending he wants is not coming. Lemillion pushes back by pointing to the earlier outburst, when a few harsh words provoked a tantrum worthy of a child, which tells him the merge is anything but finished, and that pressure only destabilizes it further. Studying the faces protruding from the left arm, Nana Shimura catches Kotaro's eyes on her and confirms to Deku that her grandson is still in there.

"Tomura" launches himself skyward hard enough to rattle the fortress and comes down declaring he will reclaim One For All. The smash tears across the field, but Deku holds it and throws the line back at him. Blackwhip and Fa Jin combine into Blackchain, a boosted bind that snares the villain's arm and hurls him away.

Refusing to be caught twice, "Tomura" works at the chain, only for Deku to release it himself. The Second User warns him to be quick: once that Quirk is running, five minutes is all the world has. Deku channels it into Transmission, appearing beneath the villain in an instant and hammering him through Second Gear, Third Gear, and Top Gear, launching him upward.

"Tomura" asserts that the original Tomura is gone, the two of them fused into one new being in which All For One holds most of the control. Lemillion exposes the instability and concludes the fusion is incomplete, and Nana reaches the same conclusion after seeing her son Kotaro's visage on the body.

Deku deflects the villain's attack with his Ultimate Move, Blackchain, which fuses Blackwhip and Fa Jin. He then debuts two more Ultimate Moves powered by the Second User's Quirk: Transmission, which shifts the speed of whatever he touches through gears, and Overdrive, which turns the Quirk on himself and amplifies his existing Ultimate Moves. With it he drives his output from 100 percent to 120 percent and overwhelms his opponent.

Lemillion is startled to find the sound arriving late, and "Tomura" is caught completely off guard, noticing that both the attack and the speed differ from the glow he saw earlier. Gearshift lets its user alter a target's speed on contact, which is what makes Overdrive possible.

Yoichi Shigaraki tells his brother that this is the day it all ends as Deku buries a fully powered Detroit Smash in the villain's stomach. The chapter runs 16 pages in Volume 37 and is adapted in Episode 151.
