Chapter 84

The argument begins in a hospital room. Eijiro Kirishima has floated a plan built around a tracking device Momo Yaoyorozu made, arguing the students rather than the professionals should go after Katsuki Bakugo. Tenya Ida rejects it outright, and most of Class 1-A lines up behind him. Yuga Aoyama points out that the Pro Heroes are handling this precisely because the students have been barred from fighting. Fumikage Tokoyami agrees, then falls quiet, feeling he has been rescued too many times to lecture anyone. Tsuyu Asui lands the sharpest objection: acting purely on feelings would put Shoto Todoroki and Eijiro on the same footing as the people they oppose. Nobody answers her.

A doctor clears the room for a private consultation. On his way out Eijiro tells Izuku Midoriya the attempt happens that night, that nothing is expected of someone in his condition, and that a spot outside the hospital will be held open anyway, since Eijiro knows who among them is the most frustrated. The medical news is mixed. Recovery Girl's work has returned movement to Izuku's arms, but his ligaments are degrading beneath the healed muscle and bone, and a repeat of the same damage could cost him the use of both arms for good. The doctor also hands over a note from Kota Izumi thanking Izuku for the rescue and hoping to say so in person. Izuku is discharged that day.

Night falls. Shoto and Eijiro are waiting when Izuku and Momo arrive, and before Momo can get a word out, Tenya turns up furious, watching his own mistake in Hosu play out again. He punches Izuku in the face and unloads: none of them has weighed what his worry, or their injuries, would cost him. Shoto swears there will be no combat, Eijiro insists the operation stays covert, and Momo explains that keeping it that way is exactly why she came. Izuku offers only that his gut will not let the training camp failure stand. Their conviction half settles Tenya, who goes along regardless. At the police station, All Might, Endeavor, Best Jeanist, and Edgeshot open a strategy session with Naomasa Tsukauchi. Inside the League of Villains hideout, Katsuki sits strapped to a chair, ringed by Kurogiri, Tomura Shigaraki, and the surviving Vanguard Action Squad. Tomura's offer of alliance earns a curse and an invitation to drop dead.

Eijiro pitches a student-run rescue using Momo's tracker, and the class, Tenya loudest among them, pushes back hard. A doctor spells out how close Izuku came to permanent damage and warns that another injury of that severity could end his use of his arms. Izuku joins Eijiro, Shoto, and Momo on the condition that the infiltration stays covert and nobody fights, with Tenya coming along to hold them to it. The Pro Heroes convene to plan their assault, while Tomura begins working on a restrained Katsuki.

Twenty pages long, the chapter ran on March 28, 2016, in that year's seventeenth issue and was collected in volume 10 as part of the Hideout Raid arc. Edgeshot makes his first appearance here. The action is set in Kamino, Yokohama, and Dupli-Arms and Hellflame both feature. Episode 46 adapts the material.
