Asaki

Asaki is an old woman whose long, wavy hair has gone a greyish white. She wears small spectacles and dresses in a red-violet kimono with an apron to match, finished with white tabi and sandals.

Warm-hearted and dutiful, Asaki holds deep affection for both her village and Remon. Her keen eye makes her the only person to sense that Kankitsu has begun behaving oddly.

As her village readies the marriage rite between Kankitsu Akitsuki and Remon, Konohamaru and Boruto arrive, having earlier befriended Remon. Kankitsu waves them off, but Asaki seeks them out to share her unease about his recent change and asks them to look into him. Kankitsu soon uses the power of Soma to strip away her fresh memories, and she meets Boruto again with no idea who he is. Spotting Kankitsu carrying Remon's cherished hair clip, she trails him into the sacred shrine that houses Soma, where he means to destroy the clip. She confronts him and demands the truth, and when he turns to kill her, Boruto steps in; Kankitsu's blast is meant for Boruto, but Asaki throws herself in its path and drops, her memories taken once more. After Konohamaru severs Soma's horns and Remon seals the entity within herself for good, a restored Asaki keeps watch over the unconscious girl alongside Kankitsu. Remon wakes remembering neither them nor herself, to Asaki's dismay, and Kankitsu resolves to help her recover what she has lost.
