A young man, C looks out through dark eyes, his short blond hair swept into a parting at the front. He wears standard Kumo-nin dress: a sleeveless black shirt under a white flak jacket that straps across a single shoulder, black arm-guards reaching to the elbow, his village's red-and-white shin-guards, sandals, and a black headband. Once he signs on with the Allied Shinobi Forces, C trades his usual Kumo protector for the one the Alliance hands out.

Next to the laid-back Darui, C reads as thoroughly serious and grown-up, his face usually fixed in a self-assured expression. Duty comes first for him: back from the Kage Summit, he tells Darui there is no time to rest because the planning has to start at once. He also holds a faint contempt for Leaf ninja, branding Naruto's companions Konoha dogs. Kishimoto envisioned C as a handsome, idol-type male with a serious side.

Chosen to guard the Fourth Raikage at the Five Kage Summit, C is capable enough to press even a group like Taka alongside Darui and his leader. He locates targets by reading their chakra from far off, heals wounds with medical ninjutsu, and pairs Lightning with Yin Release to blind a foe while planting false images in their sight. His analytical mind and broad knowledge of outside techniques let him name Amaterasu and the Mangekyō Sharingan on sight and work out how Sasuke's Blaze Release functions after a single look.

Escorting the Raikage to the Land of Iron, C senses Naruto, Kakashi, and Yamato trailing the group, then joins the chase once White Zetsu points to Sasuke nearby. He blinds Sasuke's team with a lightning pillar but is felled by a genjutsu until Darui brings him around, and when Amaterasu forces the Raikage to cut off his own arm, C stops the bleeding, disturbed by his leader's resolve. The party outlasts Sasuke's Susanoo and hears Tobi lay out the Eye of the Moon Plan and reveal that Killer B faked his capture, after which C helps pinpoint B by his chakra as B fights Kisame Hoshigaki.

Come the war, C joins the Sensor Division, shaky as a first-timer until Ao settles him. He helps blind the Ten-Tails so the Storm Release users can target its eye, weathers Obito's onslaught, reports the change in Naruto's chakra, and later battles wrapped in Kurama's power, alerting his comrades when he senses Obito alive and urging them back as the tailed beasts round on Madara.
