Chiyo (princess)

A red ribbon binds back Chiyo's long, curling brown hair, arranged in a style close to the hime cut, with two curled locks left loose to frame her face and brown eyes. She favours a pink kimono layered beneath a pale pink sleeveless haori edged in purple, cinched by a red and blue obi and a yellow waist cord.

Courteous and warm, Chiyo dotes on Shu, addressing him with deference and fretting over both his body and his spirits, going so far as to scold his instructor Tatewaki for driving him too hard. She and her father alike marvelled at the finalists straining through the closing rounds of an eating competition. That gentleness masks a firmer edge, and she showed she could be decisive when she pressed a blade to Naruto's throat after catching him posing as Shu.

Chiyo first appears watching an eating contest beside her father and Shu, and afterward she confronts Tatewaki over his brutal training methods. The next morning she rouses Naruto, who is standing in for Shu, and sits through lessons with him, soon sensing that his odd skills do not add up. Certain he is an impostor, she holds a weapon on him and demands to know where the real Shu is, only for a smoke bomb to let him escape. When she later tracks him down, an Akatsuki assault cuts any confrontation short; Tatewaki rescues her while Naruto shields her through the turmoil. Once it ends she flees with Shu to the Land of That, where his family welcomes her in, and the two are later seen travelling together.
