Gama is the first toad named in the Naruto series and appears to be the keeper of the toads' summoning contract scroll. A large, armour-clad summon fiercely devoted to Jiraiya, he answers his master's call to whip foes with his tongue and shield allies from harm.
Gama is a large toad, big enough for Jiraiya to ride upon his back. His orange hide is streaked with blue, bandages wrap his body and one foreleg, and he wears a string of seven sizeable beads, the largest of which bears the kanji for "loyalty." Three swirling marks sit in his left palm, echoing designs sometimes seen on Jiraiya himself. For battle he dons samurai gear made up of a plated cuirass, arm-guards, and traditional pauldrons.
Rarely doing more than croak, Gama reveals little of his temperament, but his devotion to Jiraiya is unmistakable. He trails after his summoner, obeys without hesitation, and is the only toad ever shown mimicking Jiraiya's signature pose.

Naruto vs Luffy with the twist nobody asked for: Luffy tickled Hinata on date night, and she kind of liked it. We break down the whole fight and commit to a winner....

Naruto built the transformation jutsu himself, and the Hidden Leaf has been quietly not talking about it ever since. The story behind our 90s R&B record about the Naruko question everybody dodges....
Gama's size and toad build make him a capable close-range fighter, and his long, stretching tongue, the Whip of Love, easily thrashes even a trained ninja such as Ebisu. His armour lets him take a blow from the mighty Kisame Hoshigaki without having his chakra drained by the sword Samehada. Jiraiya first calls him up to lash Ebisu for pestering him at the hot springs, then summons him again to deliver the toads' contract scroll to Naruto Uzumaki, staying on a while to watch the boy fail to summon a toad of his own.
During the hunt for Tsunade, Gama appears clad in armour to block Kisame's attempt to sever Naruto's arms, and in the anime he rescues Naruto, Sakura, and Sasame from an earth technique. He is also glimpsed in a flashback meditating beneath a waterfall as part of Naruto's training between the two halves of the series.

The name Gama simply means toad. It fits the character, who is a large toad summon from Mount Myōboku serving Jiraiya.
Gama is one of Jiraiya's toad summons and is entrusted with keeping the toads' summoning contract scroll. He delivered that scroll to Naruto Uzumaki and later blocked an attack from Kisame Hoshigaki to protect him.
Gama's signature technique is the Whip of Love, a stretching tongue attack strong enough to thrash even a trained ninja like Ebisu.
Gama delivered the toads' contract scroll to Naruto Uzumaki on Jiraiya's orders and stayed to watch him attempt the Summoning Technique. He later shielded Naruto from Kisame Hoshigaki's attack while searching for Tsunade.
