Jibiki is a pirate of the Funato clan and a sensor without rival, whose devotion to his captain Isari ran up against the clan leader Araumi's thirst for war. He was left blaming himself for Isari's death and jailed once the fighting stopped.
Fairly tall and pale-skinned, Jibiki has narrow grey eyes above small brows. His dark blue hair is long and straight with flat bangs, one strand dangling by the left of his face and clipped with an anchor-shaped fastener. He dresses in grey pants and a white poncho, a light purple cowl wrapped at his neck.
Still water holds nothing for Jibiki; a raging, violent sea suits him far better than a tranquil one. He drives himself into exhaustion to see a task through. Sure that talking terms with an enemy led nowhere, he even reported to Araumi in the hope of turning Isari away from his hidden scheme to strike a bargain with the Mizukage. Even so, his loyalty to Isari ran deep enough that he stood beside his captain during the talks, and he faulted himself for having failed to hold his superior back.

Naruto vs Luffy with the twist nobody asked for: Luffy tickled Hinata on date night, and she kind of liked it. We break down the whole fight and commit to a winner....

Naruto built the transformation jutsu himself, and the Hidden Leaf has been quietly not talking about it ever since. The story behind our 90s R&B record about the Naruko question everybody dodges....
To the Funato, Jibiki serves as a matchless sensor, drawing on Water Release to summon a coursing stream through the Water Flow Sensing Technique that pinpoints and traces targets at range; Isari himself judged the ability greater than his own. Under cover of night, Isari's fleet carried Jibiki into Kirigakure. As the Funato mounted a distraction, blowing up a run of blimps while Kiri showed off its new generators, Jibiki took part in the assault on the prison and helped liberate the clan's chief, Araumi, after which the pirates grabbed a number of the Land of Water's islands amid the turmoil.
Jibiki went on to stand with Isari and Tenma Funato as their main force clashed with the Mizukage's fleet. When Kiri began pushing them back, he asked about withdrawing, but Isari, glad the trick was holding, opted to keep going. Jibiki then warned him that Tenma had broken away with a small unit to hit the Kirigakure fleet, a strike that ended with Tenma falling to the Mizukage and, at sea, a Funato pullback. On the Funato island afterward, once word came of Funamushi and Seiren falling, Isari admitted he had lost faith in Araumi's hate-poisoned judgment and asked Jibiki to open quiet peace talks with Kirigakure. Conflicted, Jibiki privately told Araumi of the scheme and pressed that Isari be halted, yet the clan leader only said to let Isari carry on.
Hauled bound before Chōjūrō in Kirigakure, Isari shed his bindings to bargain as an equal while leaving Jibiki held as a token of good faith. Partway through the talk, Araumi announced total war, and when he warned that not even kin who defied him would be spared, the Marlin Harpoon sprang to life and ran Isari through, slaying him despite Jibiki speaking up on his behalf. Jibiki grieved hard, faulting himself for having let the doomed bid for peace go forward. After the war closed, he was locked away, still broken by his captain's death.
