History

When Team Jiraiya warned the villagers of coming danger, Kaya joined those fleeing to safety, but her younger son Komichi doubled back for a lost teddy bear with Ashitaba trailing after him, and she could not stop them. She went instead to Lord Mashima's shrine to pray, where Team Asuma found her; moved by her plight, they helped Team Jiraiya in the tunnels below and brought both boys back safely, leading her at first to thank the deity for the rescue. Later, back in the village, a massive nighttime explosion killed Kaya together with her family.
