The anime later placed the bear in the Forest of Death during the Chunin Exams. When Kaito Kawanami snatched a stranded chunin away from Boruto Uzumaki, he failed to spot the panda looming behind him and toppled off a ledge in shock. On a separate occasion, Team 5 and Kawaki drew a D-rank job to capture the animal; the group pulled it off despite the beast's resistance, and despite Kawaki having fallen asleep. Notably, while the panda featured across most media covering the Versus Momoshiki Arc, it was absent from that story's initial anime adaptation.
