Margo

A gentle, dutiful soul, Margo is, like many of the village's women, quietly smitten with Kakashi Hatake, sneaking looks at him as she goes about her cooking. Her first instinct is to hold onto the settled palace life she once knew, and she shrinks from opposing the Prime Minister. That reluctance melts away once Nanara arranges a peaceful path forward, and she elects to remain and fight instead of fleeing, throwing herself fully into the village's defence.

Margo spent her early years as a maid inside the royal palace of Redaku's capital, seeing to whatever their guests or the royal family needed rather than filling a fixed post. In time the Prime Minister named her personal attendant to Jiji, a shinobi of Sunagakure lodging at the palace; he fell for her and lost all wish to go home. When their hidden romance surfaced, the Prime Minister let it stand, provided Jiji give a year's service to his ally Zansūru, and Jiji agreed with a promise to return.

As that year drew to a close, Jiji was fed the lie that an epidemic had taken Margo, backed by a forged death certificate, though in truth she lived on, none the wiser. About then she was sent off to wait on Prince Nanara in far-flung Nagare Village, where she cooked, cleaned, and lined up fresh tutors each time the boy's pranks scared one away. Only once the Prime Minister fell did a letter from Kakashi to Sasuke tell Jiji she was alive, and a year on she reunited with him while attending Nanara, by then Redaku's king, at the Astronomy Research Institute.

No warrior, Margo is a civilian whose worth lies in keeping the prince's household running smoothly, from meals and cleaning to recruiting new tutors whenever Nanara scared one off. Yet she proved her mettle in the revolt against the Prime Minister: grabbing pots and pans, she joined the villagers who stormed the artillery unit, doused the cannons' firing mechanisms with water to disable them, and urged the crews to turn against the man giving them orders.
