Ryūgan

Lean enough to pass for a boy, Ryūgan frames his green eyes with a wash of blue shadow, and his combed blue hair pokes past a white forehead protector. A pale scarf circles his throat and hangs to the level of his trousers. His snug, sleeveless purple top bares his stomach, while brown-strapped purple warmers sheathe both arms. A thick brown belt gathers loose grey trousers whose cuffs vanish into his sandals, and his blade rides across his back.

Held to be the baby of the squad, Ryūgan lets none of that soften his conceit. Pride and arrogance rule him; facing Kankurō and the Leaf ninja, he sneers that his sword will finish the lot of them. The Garian Sword he holds in especially high regard, though every so often a kinder streak shows through.

Ryūgan handles the Garian Sword deftly whether the fight is up close or at reach. Pouring his chakra through the steel swells its power some tenfold, then throws it back off the edge in the shape of a dragon. Fighting beside his teammates, he can also pin Gaara down briefly with the Reverse Fish Scales Formation, a barrier woven from ninja tools.

The Four Celestial Symbols Men seize Matsuri, Gaara's student, to get at the Kazekage; their plan is to pull the One-Tailed Shukaku from him and pour it into reviving Seimei, revenge on the five great nations they hold responsible for scorning their home. Ryūgan waylays Gaara along with Kankurō, who rises to the challenge. He shatters the Kuroari and lands a blow, only to find he has struck a decoy puppet. Still ahead, he goes for the kill once more, but Chōji Akimichi and Kiba Inuzuka reach the clash quickly enough to drag Kankurō to safety. Losing patience, Ryūgan turns on all of them, yet Kiba's scheme is already running: he and Karasu, dressed up as Akamaru, pull his focus while the true Akamaru mends the Kuroari so Kankurō can seal him inside it. The lid closes, and the Machine One Shot from Kankurō's Black Secret Technique arsenal runs Ryūgan through again and again. His Garian Sword later ends up in Hōki's hands.
