Samidare Amaashi

He keeps his blue hair short above matching blue eyes. A grey sleeveless shirt tops a length of blue cloth wrapped and belted at his waist like a skirt, worn over black pants and sandals, with bandages winding up both of his shins.

Once a gentle man devoted to his family, grief hardened him into something cruel, and he sets out to make everyone who shared blame for his sister's death pay for it. Yet the kindness in him never fully dies. Mitsuki notices that he sometimes hesitates before he strikes, and his fondness for cats leads him to buy a bell for Mitsuki's pet.

Samidare spent years as a shinobi who put missions ahead of the people he loved. When his sister Mikazuki died in a Kaneki Corporation plant accident, he dug into it and found that her superiors had knowingly forced a hazardous project forward to stay competitive, then dismissed the dead. Their contempt turned him into a killer. He fights with the agility, strength, and speed of a trained ninja, drops a man like Kaneki with one blow, and swims well enough to lurk underwater in a raging river. His deadliest tool is Water Release: he sharpens falling raindrops into ultra-thin needles capable of slaughtering a crowd in an instant.

His campaign falters when he hesitates over a third victim and takes a wound in return. Mitsuki tends his injury, and after Samidare abducts the Kaneki Corporation's president by posing as a police officer and striking outside his usual rainy schedule, Mitsuki exposes and defeats him. Samidare turns his own jutsu on himself, but Mitsuki rushes him to a hospital where he is stabilized and left comatose, visited by the boy from then on.
