Shibi Aburame is a Konohagakure jonin and the head of the insect-wielding Aburame clan, as well as the father of Shino. Silent and cautious to a fault, he commands swarms of kikaichu in battle and stands as one of the clan's most respected figures.
Following Aburame tradition, Shibi hides his eyes behind dark glasses, a single tassel dangling from one side of the frames. His black hair is short and sharply spiked, and he sports a moustache. He typically wears a garment with a tall collar and slings a gourd across his back to house extra kikaichu, and like his son he is prone to keeping his hands tucked in his pockets. By the Fourth Shinobi World War he has grown a goatee and switched to a hooded version of that high-collared outfit, marked with the Allied Shinobi Forces headband.
Shibi is every bit as reserved and quiet as his son, if not more so, and the databooks paint him as a self-possessed man who stands as the pride of the Aburame. Caution guides him, and he refuses to write off any foe as too small or too weak to matter. Beneath that flat exterior lies genuine devotion to his family, evident in his efforts to keep his son out of Root and in the way he rushes first to the boy's side after poison nearly claims him.

Naruto vs Luffy with the twist nobody asked for: Luffy tickled Hinata on date night, and she kind of liked it. We break down the whole fight and commit to a winner....

Naruto built the transformation jutsu himself, and the Hidden Leaf has been quietly not talking about it ever since. The story behind our 90s R&B record about the Naruko question everybody dodges....
As a jonin and the reigning head of his clan, Shibi commands the Aburame's signature kikaichu, the parasitic insects he lives alongside. He can send them to swarm an enemy and siphon away chakra, and he can just as readily use them to draw poison from a wounded body, as he does to save his son. His standing is high enough that he is later trusted to lead a squad charged with keeping Naruto contained during the war. Within the clan, he became guardian to Torune after Shikuro Aburame's death, and Torune grew up as a brother to Shibi's own son, Shino. When Danzo Shimura came seeking a new insect-user for Root and set his sights on Shino, Shibi tried to buy time by appealing to the Third Hokage, until Torune volunteered in the boy's place.
During the Konoha Crush, Shibi pulls the poison from Shino's body and afterward mourns at the Third Hokage's funeral. When Pain lays siege to the village, he stands with Muta, Shino, and another clansman against Konan, their insects devouring the paper she has bound around trapped shinobi. The anime stretches the clash into a duel of clones and hidden explosive tags that the Aburame barely escape. He returns afterward to celebrate Naruto's victory over Pain.
In the Fourth Shinobi World War, Shibi is posted to the Island Turtle to hold Naruto inside his training room. He backs Iruka's attempts to talk the young shinobi down, but the ruse collapses, and when Shibi finally looses his kikaichu the Nine-Tails' chakra overwhelms them, forcing him to send Temui to warn the Barrier Squads. He is freed along with everyone else once Naruto and Sasuke break the Infinite Tsukuyomi, and he attends the mass funeral that follows. In the film The Lost Tower, he joins Minato Namikaze and Choza Akimichi on a mission to Roran, where his insects strain against the endless chakra powering Mukade's puppet army.
