Personality
Little occupies Shin'emon's thoughts beyond his pottery. He carries himself with open contempt, talking down to the young Naruto and Kiba who guard him and at first rating a finished piece as worth more than a human life. That conviction breaks only after Naruto pulls him from danger, when he comes to see that his own survival outweighs any object he might shape. Even so, his loyalty to his art runs deep enough that he will throw himself into a hopeless fight to keep a work safe.

During Part I, Shin'emon set out for a distant land, joined by his escorts Naruto Uzumaki and Kiba Inuzuka, carrying a piece he had crafted and named Kacho Fugetsu. Bandits ambushed the party along the road and smashed the artwork in the scuffle. Rather than despair, the potter calmly announced that making another would pose no trouble at all, leaving his two guards stunned.
