History

Shiro often tagged along as the brothers played near their village. On a day when Asura, Taizō, and two friends tracked a roaming boar, Shiro was the first to spot it, though the animal proved far fiercer than expected and the group turned to flee. As Asura faced being killed, Shiro flung himself at the boar and was quickly overwhelmed. Indra reached them moments later, cut the beast down, and awakened his Sharingan in doing so, whether from the loss itself or the strain of the moment.

Asura buried Shiro and returned often to pray at the grave. On one anniversary, Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki found his son mourning, and the love and loyalty he saw there first moved him to weigh naming Asura, rather than Indra, the successor of ninshū.
