Tatsuji
CharacterTatsuji is an Anbu operative of Konohagakure who is presumed lost on a mission. In truth he stages his own disappearance to slip into Amegakure and gather intelligence for Danzō Shimura and the village elders, a double role that nearly lands him in the Leaf's interrogation cells.
Appearance
Tatsuji's grey hair reaches his chin, with bangs draped over his forehead, and his eyes are small, black, and marked by a thin dark line beneath each. He turns up in an Amegakure flak jacket with a broad black scarf that hangs down his front.
Personality
For all that he serves Danzō, he shows visible fear when Tsunade hands Ibiki Morino the order to wring information out of him by torture.
History
Yamato once knew Tatsuji as a fellow Anbu. He was later dispatched on a mission where he feigned going missing so he could penetrate Amegakure and collect information for Danzō Shimura and the village's elders. Breaching Amegakure marks him as a capable shinobi, since Pain's grip on the populace made the village nearly impossible to infiltrate, and he was a trusted hand within Konoha's Anbu. He is spotted outside the village conferring with Danzō, seized by a group of Anbu, and hauled back to Konoha for questioning. Yamato identifies him as a Leaf shinobi, and before any real interrogation begins, Koharu and Homura reveal to Tsunade that he had been working for them all along; he is presumably let go afterward.
