Personality

Loyal to his country's pact with the Land of Flowers, Tekkan speaks against invading it and finds the Earth daimyo's excuses thin. He warms to compromise when a workable alternative is floated, yet he is not above petty pride, grumbling when a rival industrialist is given the finer ride at a public ceremony.

History

Tekkan took part in the Five Great Countries Summit, called after the Land of Earth threatened to invade the Land of Flowers. Bound to Flowers by alliance, he rejected the invasion and dismissed the reasoning of Earth's daimyo Danjo, who countered that the small country was not worth defending and hinted the Raikage Darui felt the same; Tekkan conceded only that Darui could be insolent. When Fire's daimyo Ikkyu Madoka proposed ceding some Fire territory to Earth to avert war, and further suggested a Continental Summit open to every nation, Tekkan found the plan appealing, and the assembled daimyo agreed to let that gathering decide the fate of Flowers. In the anime he is invited to Kirigakure's unveiling of its new Shinonome power plant, afterward stewing at being placed on the second aircraft while Awaji Unabara and other magnates rode the first.
