Tokiwa

An exceptionally tall woman, Tokiwa looms over most people on a slender frame, her angular face edged by short brown hair and dark red lipstick. She wears a backless red bodysuit over mesh armour, paired with arm-length gloves, a pale orange sash, and a long blue-green apron skirt left open at the front. Bandages wrap her wrists along with much of one arm and her left thigh and leg, and an unusually long, slim katana rides across her back.

Even-keeled and level-headed, Tokiwa reserves open admiration for shinobi whose strength impresses her, as when she praised Naruto for slipping past one of Shizuka's strikes. She extends courtesy to the powerful, addressing Jiraiya, Naruto, and Shizuka alike with honourifics, and she carries a streak of humility, going so far as to kneel before Naruto to request that he face Shizuka.

Tokiwa handles Earth Release, most visibly raising a walled arena with the Iron Fist Prison so that Naruto and Shizuka could settle their bout. The long blade she carries points to training in kenjutsu as well. On the journey toward the Land of Fire she moved to intercept the puppeteer Kokuyō, though Shizuka waved her off and dealt with him herself. Tokiwa later pressed Naruto to honour the old marriage agreement, sharing the story of Shizuka's past to win him over. When Kokuyō's Hundred Puppet Soul Binding activated, she recognised that every earlier attack had merely set it up, and once the crisis passed she returned home at Shizuka's side.
