Towa

Long silver hair, gathered at the back with loose strands spilling over the left side of his face, sits beneath a white Anbu mask shaped with a short beaked front and two eye holes. A red flame design curls from the mask's upper-left corner past the left eye. Though he is not part of Root, Towa dresses in that division's standard uniform, minus the gloves and the left arm guard the others wear. A red curse-seal tattoo marks his right upper arm while the Anbu emblem sits on his left, and he straps a sword across his back and keeps four kunai fastened to his right thigh.

Where his partner Komachi favors range, Towa presses in for close-quarters combat, and he tends to taunt whoever he faces, seeming to relish a good fight. His signature weapon is the special tattoo on his right arm. By channeling chakra into it he can spread the pattern across his skin, and he can also draw it out beyond his body, coating his blade or forming fresh edged weapons from nothing, whether a drill or a set of claws.

Alongside Komachi, Towa opens his story by confronting two silent missing-nin outside the village. The pair beat the rogues down but lose them when they flee, and their pursuit leads to a village whose people had slaughtered one another. After reporting the horror to Konoha and later to Tsunade, the two keep digging into the enemy ninja behind the attacks, and they likely assist Yugao Uzuki as she slips into the hideout. Towa turns up alone at the stadium hosting the Chunin Exams, where Jiraiya has just subdued the shady arms dealer Bando and asks him to take the man into Anbu custody.

The partners finally corner Kagura, who reveals she had been steering their entire investigation to bait Tsunade into a lethal duel of revenge. Towa and Komachi fight her together and lose, after which Kakashi and Sakura Haruno step in. Towa is not shown again, having most likely slipped away with Komachi to warn Tsunade.
