History

Uroko's only child, Yakumo, was born carrying the full breadth of the Kurama Clan's kekkei genkai but saddled with a fragile body. With the clan long past its days as one of Konoha's great houses, Murakumo was determined to reverse its decline by cultivating their daughter's gift as a genjutsu user, and he petitioned the Third Hokage for a dedicated tutor in the hope she could overcome her frailty through that focus. A fire eventually swept the Kurama household and killed both Uroko and Murakumo. The blaze traced back to Yakumo's own uncontrolled power: Ido, a malevolent, self-willed personality lurking in her subconscious, had turned her abilities loose. Not knowing Ido existed, Yakumo at first believed the Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi, had ordered her parents' deaths before she learned the truth.
