Yurinojō

Of medium build, Yurinojo has black eyes, heavy eyebrows, and short hair in a dark grey shade. He dresses in a pale jacket layered under a turquoise vest, with darker trousers, sandals, and a sword slung across his back. When posing as a merchant he swaps this for a grey suit trimmed in orange, a light beanie, and a shoulder bag.

Yurinojo is the more self-doubting of the two friends, yet he will still speak against Haruna when he feels it warranted, all while holding both her and his comrade in genuine respect. That respect showed when he shielded the princess from a strike meant by Naruto, taking the blow to his own face and then apologising on her behalf. He looked up to Kikunojo as the stronger of them and lamented that his friend's death robbed him of the chance to ever surpass him. As boys the two shared a crush on Tsunade and once competed for her affection, at least by Tsunade's own account.

Yurinojo's craft is the Flower Ninja Art, a branch of ninjutsu and genjutsu built around flowers; he can turn blossoms into flying shuriken or set them ablaze to encircle and burn an enemy, a skill he honed growing up beside his rival Kikunojo. When the feared Janin threatened the Land of Vegetables, the daimyo assigned the two of them to protect his daughter Haruna, and Kikunojo brought in Konoha under the cover of a merchant escort.

After the Criminal Brothers saw through the ruse and Kikunojo fell fighting them, Yurinojo joined Naruto and Choji against Ruiga. Realising that Ruiga relied on his tonfa as dowsing rods to find the water his techniques needed, he helped lure the enemy onto dry, rocky ground where no water could be drawn, shutting down his attacks.
