Yūsuke earns his living hauling nets along the coast of the Land of Fire. A giant summoned marlin once drowned his father during a failed catch, and the grown fisherman fixes his heart on finally landing the beast that took him.
Yūsuke is drawn as a rugged working fisherman. His design was based on Yūsuke Kamiji, the singer and actor who voices him and who also recorded Otakebi, the theme song of the film Naruto the Movie: Blood Prison.
Grief hardens into purpose for Yūsuke. Losing his father to the marlin leaves him fixed on avenging that death by catching the fish himself. He also speaks for his whole trade, explaining that the summoned creature has left local fishermen too frightened to sail out and work the sea.

Naruto vs Luffy with the twist nobody asked for: Luffy tickled Hinata on date night, and she kind of liked it. We break down the whole fight and commit to a winner....

Naruto built the transformation jutsu himself, and the Hidden Leaf has been quietly not talking about it ever since. The story behind our 90s R&B record about the Naruko question everybody dodges....
As a boy, Yūsuke joined his father in an attempt to land a giant summoned marlin, a beast left over from the Third Great Shinobi War. The hunt went wrong and cost his father his life, planting the vendetta that would define him.
Years later, after the same marlin battered Aoba and Guy, Yūsuke charged in to fight it and had to be pulled clear by Naruto. He told the ninja he needed a tougher boat, a real engine, and a rod strong enough to bring the fish down. The next day Yamato shaped a sturdy vessel and rod with Wood Release while Guy powered the craft using the Eight Gates. With their help Yūsuke finally hooked the marlin, then chose to let Naruto, Guy, Aoba, and Yamato carry it back to its home waters. He saw the four off from shore as they set sail the following morning.

After hooking the marlin, Yūsuke chooses to let Naruto, Guy, Aoba, and Yamato carry the fish back to its home waters instead of keeping it, and he sees the four off from shore the next morning.
Yūsuke's design is based on Yūsuke Kamiji, the singer and actor who voices him and who also performed Otakebi, the theme song for Naruto the Movie: Blood Prison.
