Battleground!

The lords of the five great nations assemble in a fortified home to talk over the Allied Shinobi Forces along with the honours their fighters deserve once the war ends, until Black Zetsu bursts in to slay them. His strike lands on nothing but wooden stand-ins, the leaders already relocated, and he slips free of a tightening net of ninja while sneering that they have underrated him. Nearby, Mei Terumī and her guard detail shepherd the Land of Frost's daimyō and promise him he is safe.

On the Land of Lightning shore, Darui opens with his Black Lightning, while a resurrected, unwillingly conscripted Hizashi faces his brother Hiashi and stands by the death he chose long ago for the good of the Hyūga and their home. Kankurō's unit runs into a fresh set of revived fighters, Chiyo, Hanzō, and Kimimaro, summoned by Chūkichi to reinforce the diversion platoon. Out in the desert, Shikamaru gets word to peel off half his squad for Darui, which leaves Temari uneasy at facing a shinobi armed with the rare kekkei tōta, and Ōnoki reaches the front to prop up the Fourth Division.

Back on the shore, Darui squares off against the infamous Gold and Silver Brothers; as he readies his Storm Release, he apologises to Kinkaku and Ginkaku for having to dim their shining lustre still further with one strike.

Part of the Fourth Shinobi World War: Confrontation arc, the episode splits its focus across several battlefronts while the alliance contends with a lurking Black Zetsu and legions of reanimated foes. It sets up looming duels, from the kekkei tōta wielder Mū to the notorious brothers on the Lightning coast. The instalment adapts chapters 525 and 526.
