Sasuke and Orochimaru chase the source of the exploding humans to a Coliseum, where a collector named En Oyashiro unravels the tragic history of the Chinoike clan and points them toward the Valley of Hell.
Sasuke uses his Sharingan to halt an exploding human, drawing amused commentary from Orochimaru and quiet interest from En Oyashiro, who observes from a distance. As more spectators begin to show the same signs, Yamato appears and warns that not everyone can be saved, sealing one victim in wood while Orochimaru smothers another blast with his snakes. Sasuke evades a chakra-charged knife that detonates on the floor and starts after his attacker, but breaks off to pull Chino clear of an explosion instead. Nowaki and Yamato regroup with him, and Yamato confirms these are the same exploding humans that struck Konoha.
A Coliseum employee relays that En wishes to meet Sasuke, and the two find the collector underwhelming. Pressed on why so secretive a man would show himself, En says he learned of the Konoha attack and suspects it was meant to reach Sasuke. Asked about Fushin, En recounts winning him at the Coliseum, noting Fushin was born in the Land of Water and sold off because others dreaded his kekkei genkai, a rarity En himself prizes. He adds that Fushin later fled alongside other bloodline-users among his guard. When Sasuke asks about red eyes, En names one such guard from the Chinoike clan, a wielder of the Ketsuryugan.
En traces the clan's downfall: a Chinoike woman sent as a concubine to a daimyo stirred his wife's jealousy, and when the lord died she blamed the concubine, leading to the clan's exile to the Valley of Hell. The wife hired the Uchiha, whose Sharingan could stand against the Ketsuryugan, and refused the clan's plea to negotiate. Told the valley lies in the Land of Hot Water, Sasuke, Chino, and Nowaki travel there and meet a crowd of exploding humans, whom Sasuke lulls to sleep. He shields himself with Susanoo, chases a knife-thrower, and finishes the pursuit only to find it is not Fushin. After facing earth walls and rubber balls, he ends the fight with Amaterasu and reads the attacker's memories, learning that Nowaki is Fushin. Sasuke had already suspected as much from a chakra blade matching the one used against him in the Bamboo Village, and Fushin agrees to reveal his true form.

We ranked the six most popular women of Naruto from worst to first, and our number one is going to start a fight. The official poll got it wrong....

The transformation everyone knows, the follow-up question nobody would touch. Why we made a smooth R&B track about the golden glow Dragon Ball never talks about....
Fushin is the identity later revealed to belong to Nowaki, a bloodline user born in the Land of Water who was sold off because others feared his kekkei genkai. Sasuke confirms this by reading the attacker's memories after tracking the exploding humans to the Valley of Hell.
In Fushin, Sasuke and Orochimaru pursue the source of the exploding humans to a Coliseum, where the collector En Oyashiro shares the tragic history of the Chinoike clan. The episode then follows Sasuke, Chino, and Nowaki to the Valley of Hell, where Sasuke discovers that Nowaki is actually Fushin.
En Oyashiro is a collector who owns Fushin and other bloodline users as part of his guard, having won Fushin at the Coliseum. He tells Sasuke about the attack on Konoha, suspecting it was meant to reach Sasuke, and explains the Chinoike clan's downfall and the Ketsuryugan.
The Ketsuryugan is the kekkei genkai wielded by members of the Chinoike clan, marked by red eyes, and one of En Oyashiro's guards possesses it. The Chinoike clan was targeted and eventually exiled to the Valley of Hell because a daimyo's jealous wife blamed a Chinoike concubine for his death.
The Chinoike clan was exiled after a Chinoike woman sent as a concubine to a daimyo stirred his wife's jealousy, and when the daimyo died, the wife blamed the concubine. The wife then hired the Uchiha, whose Sharingan could counter the Ketsuryugan, and refused the clan's plea to negotiate, forcing them into exile.
