The penultimate Shippuden episode ties off the series' main story, as Sasuke and Naruto end the war at the Valley of the End, the Infinite Tsukuyomi is undone, and the reunited friends part ways once more.
Sakura and Kakashi reach the shattered rim of the Valley of the End and find Naruto and Sasuke sprawled below. Sakura drops down to mend their ruined arms, and Naruto thanks her. Sasuke waves her off at first, but when she tells him she has to concentrate, the weight of everything catches up to him and his apology leaves her in tears. Watching the three of them laugh together, Kakashi flashes back to the day he first met them and decides Sasuke has truly come home. With their remaining hands, Naruto and Sasuke form the seals to end it: the God Tree's roots wither, the Infinite Tsukuyomi releases everyone it held, and Sasuke frees the tailed beasts. Tenten passes Darui the Benihisago so he can release Samui and Atsui.
Konoha holds a funeral for its fallen, among them Shikaku, Inoichi, and Neji. Later, crowds pour into the village to see Naruto. Tsunade congratulates Kakashi on inheriting the Hokage seat and brushes aside his dread of the paperwork. Delegations from the Raikage and Kazekage arrive and ask Naruto about his missing arm, which he explains Tsunade plans to rebuild from Hashirama's cells. Sasuke is kept prisoner, wrapped in a restraining jacket with seals over his eyes, while Guy is told his injuries end his career as a shinobi, a verdict that does not trouble him.

Naruto vs Luffy with the twist nobody asked for: Luffy tickled Hinata on date night, and she kind of liked it. We break down the whole fight and commit to a winner....

Naruto built the transformation jutsu himself, and the Hidden Leaf has been quietly not talking about it ever since. The story behind our 90s R&B record about the Naruko question everybody dodges....
Escorting Naruto to the Academy, Shikamaru confirms he now serves as the Hokage's aide and that Kakashi holds the office. Kakashi wants to name Naruto a jōnin but insists he study first, and Iruka, Konohamaru, Moegi, and Udon pile study materials on him with a two-year goal, until Konohamaru reminds him there are no shortcuts to the Hokage's chair. Iruka spends the day teaching him shinobi history, and that night, heading for ramen, Naruto thanks Iruka for believing in him long ago and crediting that moment for who he became, moving Iruka to offer him all the ramen he can eat. After Kakashi visits him in prison, Sasuke is pardoned the next day for his plea and his part in ending the war. He chooses to travel alone to atone and grow, declining both Sakura's wish to wait for his new arm and her offer to come along, telling her she bears no share of his sins before poking her forehead and promising to return. As he departs, Naruto hands him the scratched forehead protector he had kept all these years.
