Power - Episode 2

Still probing the raid carried out by Kabuto and his reanimated soldiers, Team Kakashi finds Naruto swallowed whole by a giant snake. He tears his way out using shadow clones but accidentally gulps down several of the smaller snakes in the pond, the same creatures Kabuto had drawn on to bring back Hidan. When Naruto resurfaces, Kabuto pulls back with his puppets, throwing Deidara forward as a distraction and leaving a slain village guard inside the serpent's jaws. Elsewhere Dokku looks after the orphans, one of whom, Miina, has fallen silent from the shock of the attack.

Regrouping, Naruto and Sakura fall in with Shiseru while Yamato and Sai stay with the other guards. At Dokku's home the children spot the headband Naruto wears, identical to the ones worn by the reanimated attackers, and Leo lashes out and kicks him. A chase ends at a collapsed bridge, where Dokku and Miina tumble toward the ravine and Naruto snatches them from the fall. Yamato and Sai, seeking answers, are shown a book by the local leader that traces the origin of the Hole and the ancient power once said to sleep there.

That night Naruto slips into his own mind before the Nine-Tails' cage, his feet leaking the snakes he had eaten. He and Dokku speak of Dokku's failures, including a girl he could not save in his youth, set against Naruto's fame that has reached even remote Hachō Village. In a graveyard, Kabuto trades words with Hidan and Deidara through scrolls before pressing a fresh talisman into Deidara's skull.

This is the second entry in the Power arc, numbered 291 in Shippuden. A continuity slip is noted in the episode: in the moment before he strikes Dokku, the reanimated Hayate Gekkō is missing the sheath usually fastened across his back.
