Boruto episode 17 sends Sarada on a frantic errand across the rails after she leaves a patient's teddy bear on a departing train. Chasing it down forces her to try the rooftop-hopping she once mocked, with Chōchō along for the ride.
Shino drills the students in walking on water, even churning the surface to mimic river and ocean currents. Later, carrying groceries home, Sarada spots Boruto and the others leaping off a train to go teach Denki how to fish. She turns down the invitation, needing to cook dinner, and scolds them for riding on top of the cars. That evening she makes soup as Sakura arrives, and the next morning she hands over a trip itinerary while her mother packs. When Sakura notices an undelivered teddy bear meant for a patient, Sarada volunteers to drop it off, only to leave it aboard the train after getting absorbed in a note from her mother.
Desperate to catch up, Sarada balks at hopping the rooftops the way Boruto does, and a run-in with Shizune slows her further. She races to the next station but loses time helping an elderly woman buy a ticket, then finally springs onto the train and, to her surprise, enjoys the thrill. Shikadai catches a glimpse of her, sending the boys hunting for footprints, so she slips off and runs into Chōchō, begging her to keep quiet. The two visit lost and found, collect the wrong package, and learn the right one is already claimed. A marketplace vendor identifies their doll as a Takigakure piece meant to float downriver in an ancestral ceremony, and Chōchō pays for the answer with rare chips from her stash.

Naruto built the transformation jutsu himself, and the Hidden Leaf has been quietly not talking about it ever since. The story behind our 90s R&B record about the Naruko question everybody dodges....
While Ino takes Sakura to the site of her first date with Sasuke, the girls reach the ceremony to find the bear already released into the water. Sarada wobbles across the river to retrieve it, gets distracted by the fishing boys, and tumbles in after tossing the package to Chōchō, then bluffs that she had simply gone for a swim. She delivers the toy at last, and back home she offers Sakura soup while owning up to changing her usual recipe. The episode aired in Japan on 26 July 2017 and in English on 9 February 2019.
