The Secret Behind the Underground Room

The daimyo of the Land of Valleys arrives to a warm welcome from Victor, just as Boruto and Sarada reach the same region. The two young ninja compare notes on Konohamaru's assignment, Mitsuki's wound, and their failure to return Anato to his wife Mia before finally meeting with her. Over in Otogakure, Mitsuki frets about his teammates, but Orochimaru cautions that his replacement organs are still weeks from being ready and his health remains fragile. Proud that the boy acted of his own accord yet displeased by his reliance on Sage Transformation, Orochimaru had dispatched Suigetsu to look in on the group, and the report that the rest of Team 7 sits in the Land of Valleys only deepens Mitsuki's worry.

When Mitsuki resolves to rejoin his friends, Log puts him under with a sedative. At the company, Victor guides the daimyo's escort into a restricted wing, where the decontamination process quietly takes hold of them. Boasting of the Hashirama Cell, Victor claims to stand on the threshold of curing untreatable illnesses and abolishing old age. The daimyo pledges to shield the research, but one guard shakes him free of the genjutsu, exposing the human test subjects. Those guards prove to be Konohamaru and Mugino in disguise, and Mugino severs Victor's right arm.

The detached limb crawls back to Victor on its own after triggering countermeasures, and he flings Mugino away with a Wind Release blast as his employees swarm the Konoha jonin. A God Tree sapling erupts inside the laboratory, and Victor feeds the Iwa doctor to it while his secretary herds more staff in to serve as nourishment. As the ground shudders, Boruto and Sarada urge Mia to safety and move to back up the jonin, while Victor and his secretary watch the tree's bud unfurl. The episode is part of the Kara Actuation arc, airing in Japan on November 8, 2020, and in English on May 17, 2022.
