Summary

Watching the sandstorm settle, Asuma, Kurenai, and Guy agree that pushing back the Chūnin Exams was sound, then slip past the Suna guards blocking the desert under cover of blowing sand. While the other teams wait out the weather, Kankurō, Temari, and the Exploration Group pull stranded genin to safety. Back at the office, a shinobi reporting to Gaara discovers only a sand clone in the Kazekage's chair, because the real Gaara has gone to encourage Team Matsuri onward. Their route turns hostile when Hōichi animates their shadows to choke them and draw out Gaara, then uses a sealing technique to grip Shukaku and begin tearing the beast free of its host.
