Overview

Gōzu and Meizu, known together as the Demon Brothers, were two chūnin from Kirigakure who helped Zabuza Momochi slip away from the village as a defector. Once free, they carried out killings alongside him, banking the proceeds to fund a fresh attempt on the Mizukage's life.

Role

Few duos matched the brothers for coordinated assault. Each wore a heavy metal gauntlet, Gōzu on his right arm and Meizu on his left, and between the two ran a retractable shuriken-studded chain. They could whip that chain around a foe to bind them fast, then drag it tight to carve the victim apart. Should the chain ever be cut off from use, a release catch let each brother break away to attack on his own, and the venom-laced claws fixed to their gauntlets gave them another means of tearing an enemy to shreds. Their one recorded assignment, killing the bridge builder Tazuna on Gatō's orders, ended in failure when Team 7 intercepted them, bound them to a tree, and left them for capture.

Notable Members

The pairing consisted solely of the two siblings. Gōzu handled the right-hand gauntlet, Meizu the left, and their whole fighting style was built around the shuriken chain that tied them together as one weapon.
