Janin

The Janin, whose name translates as Evil Ninja, were a trio of brothers each armed with a distinctive brand of ninjutsu. Renga stood as their leader, though the three shared no real loyalty with one another. Their story is one of ambition curdling into treachery, aimed at outsiders and family alike.

The brothers took over the Land of Vegetables by leaning on a cabal of disloyal, greedy courtiers. Once they held power, they repaid those collaborators by slaughtering every one of them. That same ruthlessness ran between the siblings; Renga openly admitted he would have killed Jiga and Ruiga himself had Konoha's ninja not gotten to them first. Their downfall came piece by piece, until Renga alone was left at his enemies' mercy.

Renga headed the group and outlasted his brothers, only to be spared when Haruna could not bring herself to take her revenge, leaving his ultimate fate unknown. Ruiga died at the hands of his own brother Jiga, and Jiga in turn fell when Hinata Hyūga exploited a weakness in his technique. The mutual distrust among the three defined them as much as their powers did.
