Team Ro

Answering directly to the Hokage, Team Ro ranks among the finest Anbu units in the Hidden Leaf. Kakashi Hatake leads the group, whose known operatives include Tenzo, Itachi Uchiha, and Yugao Uzuki. The name also surfaces during the Konoha Crush, when an Anbu detachment called Ro was charged with guarding the feudal lord attending the Chunin Exams.

The unit's assignments span espionage, assassination, and cleanup. Kakashi and Tenzo once hunted down hostile Kirigakure ninja, wiping them out as they fled. Kakashi and Itachi later shadowed an information handoff between Konoha operatives and the Prajna Group out of the Land of Woods, striking the instant the Prajna side moved to betray them. On another occasion, the squad silently killed five Kusagakure saboteurs who were planting explosive tags beneath a street, leaving no trace that could implicate the village. Kakashi was also sent to look into an intruder repeatedly slipping past the barrier around the Uchiha district, though he could only pass what he learned to the Third Hokage without unmasking the culprit.

Kakashi Hatake heads the unit throughout its known operations, with Tenzo and Itachi Uchiha among its notable ranks. Alongside the Third Hokage, the team moved to calm the Uchiha and head off a coup, but its efforts were rendered moot once Itachi slaughtered nearly the entire clan. In the aftermath, Yugao Uzuki recovered the lone survivor, Sasuke Uchiha, and delivered him to the Medic Corps on Hiruzen Sarutobi's orders, while the wider unit shouldered the enormous task of clearing away the dead.
