Summary
Even with Enma fighting at his side, the Third Hokage takes Orochimaru's Kusanagi blade through his back. Orochimaru promises the wound is fatal, yet Sarutobi shows no fear, since the sealing he has begun already guarantees his own end. He describes what the Dead Demon Consuming Seal is, recalling how it once brought down the Nine-Tailed Fox, then gathers what remains of his strength to trap Orochimaru's soul. Across the village, Jiraiya at last steps into Konoha's defence and halts the enormous snakes tearing through the streets. Farther off, Sasuke closes on the Three Sand Siblings, where Kankuro stays behind to stall him so Gaara can flee, only for Shino to appear and take on Kankuro so Sasuke can keep pursuing Gaara.
