Chapter 356 of the Naruto manga splits a pursuit into two ambushes. While Sasuke is cornered by Akatsuki, Naruto receives an unsettling gift from Kabuto, who explains how far he has gone to escape a life of servitude.
Sensing they are being trailed, Naruto and Sasuke find their party split. Tobi steps out to occupy Sasuke, leaving him open to an attack from Deidara. Naruto, meanwhile, is approached by Kabuto, who hands him a black book packed with intelligence on the Akatsuki.
Asked about the gift, Kabuto calls Naruto an inspiration. He draws a parallel between Naruto's lifelong effort to be seen as more than the beast sealed within him and his own struggle to break free from serving others. Following that example, Kabuto has fused Orochimaru's remains into himself to become strong enough never to serve again, leaving half of his body Orochimaru.

Naruto vs Luffy with the twist nobody asked for: Luffy tickled Hinata on date night, and she kind of liked it. We break down the whole fight and commit to a winner....

Naruto built the transformation jutsu himself, and the Hidden Leaf has been quietly not talking about it ever since. The story behind our 90s R&B record about the Naruko question everybody dodges....
The chapter belongs to the Itachi Pursuit Mission arc and was collected in the thirty-ninth volume. It reached Japan on June 18, 2007.
