The forty-second chapter of the Naruto manga stays inside the written stage of the Chunin Exams, where Naruto refuses an easy shortcut to shield a classmate and gambles his entire chance of advancing on a mysterious final question that the proctors have not yet revealed.
Worried that accepting Hinata's help might get her expelled from the test, Naruto decides not to glance at her answer sheet. He instead pins everything on the exam's closing question, the tenth item that the proctors have promised will arrive only near the end. As the clock runs down, candidates keep quietly copying from one another, more teams are cut for being caught, and eventually that long-awaited final question is handed to whoever remains.
Naruto turns away a chance to duplicate Hinata's paper so that she will not be penalised. He resolves to stake his passing grade on the tenth question alone. The covert cheating drags on and further examinees are eliminated for slipping up. With the room thinned out, the proctors finally present that decisive last problem to the surviving genin.

Naruto vs Luffy with the twist nobody asked for: Luffy tickled Hinata on date night, and she kind of liked it. We break down the whole fight and commit to a winner....

Naruto built the transformation jutsu himself, and the Hidden Leaf has been quietly not talking about it ever since. The story behind our 90s R&B record about the Naruko question everybody dodges....
This installment sits within the written examination portion of the Chunin Exams storyline and was gathered into the fifth tankobon volume. Viz Media issued it in English under the alternate title To Each His Own. It first ran in a combined 2000 issue of the source magazine.
